Costco and Red Cross Donations for Japan
Hey guys, I wanted to spread the word through my networks. Please pass this on if you can. I just went shopping today at Costco and found out you can make a Red Cross donation there for Japan, and Costco will match your donation.
If you want to give to the Japan Relief Fund, please shop at Costco where your money can go twice as far. I donated $25 and the lady acted like I walked on water. Most folks don’t give more than $5 or $10 dollars. Please give as much as you can.

Hi,
I called member services for Costco and they are unaware they are matching at this time. I called a local store and they did said they are taking donations at the register to forward to the red-cross but not matching at this time.
Where did you get your matching information?
Thanks.

Clinton – Hmm. Well, I shop at my local Costco here in Hillsboro, OR, which just happens to be the largest Costco in the USA. The way the lady behind the register made it sound as if “Costco” at large doubled donations. Perhaps it was that one specific location. Can anyone confirm the policy at their local Costcos?
I am a Costco employee and Costco IS NOT matching donations for the Red Cross Disaster Relief Efforts. The company DOES match for United Way and Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals which is probably where the confusion came from. On behalf of all Costco cashiers, I apologize for the confusion!
Thank you for clarifying! Perhaps my checker was just wrong. If so, *sadface*
Regardless, donate for Japan!
